Smart Hospital Self-Registration System

MedKiosk
VueJSRaspberry PiNATSGoKubernetesLinuxMedical Tech

Overview

MedKiosk revolutionized the patient check-in experience at RSU Anwar Medika. By deploying self-service terminals powered by Raspberry Pi and a modern VueJS interface, the system reduced administrative bottleneck by 40%. The backend utilizes an event-driven architecture with NATS, ensuring that patient data is securely transmitted and synchronized across hospital departments even in the event of local network outages.

Core Features

  • Self-service Patient Registration
  • Biometric & ID Card Scanner Integration
  • Real-time Queue Management Sync
  • On-premise Edge Computing (Raspberry Pi)
  • Event-driven High Availability Architecture
  • Multilingual Support (Indonesian/English)

The Challenge

Complex hurdles overcome.

Ensuring registration uptime in environments with unstable internet connectivity and local power fluctuations.

Integrating diverse hardware components (printers, scanners, touchscreens) into a unified web-based interface.

The Solution

Architected for success.

Utilized an on-premise Kubernetes cluster and NATS for local message persistence, ensuring data syncs once connectivity is restored.

Developed a custom Go-based hardware bridge to communicate between the VueJS frontend and specialized peripheral drivers via WebSockets.
